Description

Technical Specifications: Original Service Part (ORG) for Samsung power circuits.

  • Model Number: SM5705 (Compatible with R/Q revisions).

  • Type: USB Charging Controller / Battery Management IC.

  • Function: Controls charging current flow, USB detection, and battery thermal monitoring.

Common Fixes:

  1. Fake Charging: The phone shows the lightning bolt icon, but the battery percentage does not increase (or decreases).

  2. Slow Charging: Device takes an abnormally long time to charge.

  3. Temperature Warning: Phone stops charging due to a false “Temperature too low/high” error (often related to this IC or the thermistor line it controls).

  4. High Current Draw: Short circuit causing the device to heat up when the charger is connected.

Compatibility: Widely used in the Samsung 2016 lineup:

  • Galaxy A3 2016 (SM-A310).

  • Galaxy A5 2016 (SM-A510).

  • Galaxy A7 2016 (SM-A710).

  • Galaxy A8 (SM-A800).

  • Galaxy J5 (J500 / J510).

  • Galaxy C5 (C5000).

Technician Note: This product covers the SM5705, SM5705R, and SM5705Q series. These revisions are generally compatible for the listed models, but checking the original chip’s marking is always good practice.
