Description
JTX IR-3 is a thermochromic silicone diagnostic pad designed to help mobile phone and electronics repair technicians locate heat sources caused by short circuits on motherboards and PCBs.
The pad is placed over the area being tested while the motherboard is powered or the appropriate short-circuit test is performed. When a specific area heats up, the thermochromic material changes color, helping the technician identify the location of the suspected heat source.
The pad changes color when the temperature reaches 35°C or above and returns to its original color when the temperature drops below this level.
It is flexible, transparent, and reusable, and can be used with different types of motherboards and electronic devices, including smartphones, tablets, and PCBs.
The IR-3 provides a practical way to assist with short-circuit troubleshooting without relying on smoke-producing testing materials. It also requires no complex focusing or calibration like thermal imaging equipment.
